Course Description

This one year full-time advanced certificate offers students the opportunity to further develop their creative talents, exploring a specialised  range of creative subjects based on professional practice. Students complete four business based modules which gives them a comprehensive understanding of the business of art. As part of the course they will complete the necessary paper work to allow them to professionally apply for Percent for Art schemes, exhibitions, residencies etc.

 Mimum Entry Requirements

  • Completion of QQI Level 5 Art, Craft and Design
  • Successful completion of interview

  • Work Experience

  • Art Appreciation
  • Fabric Manipulation

Certification

  • QQI Level 6 Art (6M4029)

Opportunities/Progression

Successful candidates may progress to further study at third level art colleges; gaining entry to second year of these courses may be a strong possibility. Successful candidates may gain employment in the vast area of Art and Craft-as practicing artists, in galleries or on community art projects.

Completion of the Level 6 Art Major award allows students to apply direcly for advanced entry for advanced entry to 2nd year of the BA in Design (Ceramics) at LSAD.
