Course Description
The Back to Education Initiative provides part-time Further
Education
programmes for young people and adults. The aim is to give
people an
opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work
and other
responsibilities.
Cost
Tuition is free to participants who are in receipt of one of the following:
• Medical Card
• Widow’s and Widower’s Non-Contributory Pension
• Supplementary Welfare Allowance
• Blind Person’s Pension
• Unemployment Benefit
• Unemployment Assistance
• Family Income Supplement
• Pre-retirement allowance
• Carer’s Allowance
• Old Age Non-Contributory Pension
• One-Parent Family Payment
• Orphan’s Non-Contributory Pension
• Back-to-Work Allowance
• Invalidity Pension
• Community Employment
• Disability Allowance
• Part-time Job Incentive Scheme
• Disability Benefit, where this has been held for a continuous
period of at least 6 months
For unwaged participants with less than upper secondary education who are not covered by the category above, a reduction of fees will apply to a level of 30% of tuition costs.
For all remaining participants, full fees will be
charged. BTEI courses are run on a modular basis.
Full tuition cost for one module is €90 (may be
subject to change for 2011/2012).
