VTOS stands for Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme
The V.T.O.S. scheme is designed to provide
second chance education for the long-term unemployed and other
social welfare recipients.

Who is eligible?
Applicants must be over 21 and in receipt of one of the following
benefits for at least 6 months:
• JSA
• JSB
• Lone Parent Allowance
• An adult dependant of a person eligible under the above headings
• Disability Allowance
• Disability Benefit
What Courses are available to V.T.O.S.
students?
All
full-time courses in the Centre qualify for V.T.O.S.
What Benefits are available to V.T.O.S.
students?
Students continue to receive their Social Welfare entitlements plus:
• No tuition fees.
• All books and materials are provided on a lending scheme.
• No Exam Fees.
• Meals, Travel and Childcare Allowances are paid on a daily
attendance basis.
• An additional allowance of €31.80 paid to participants who are
unemployed for over a year.
All courses subject to availability of places. Students are admitted to courses after a selection interview.
